FUMC COVID-19 Update

As the ongoing COVID-19 situation continues to unfold, we at First United Methodist Church are committed to continuing to live out our SERVE mission statement in a way that protects the health and wellbeing of our whole community. We are currently following the guidelines set forth by the McPherson County Health Department for “Phase Three”, which calls for enhanced hygiene practices, social distancing, and a limit of 45 people in mass gatherings.

As of mid-July, we have resumed in-person worship for those who are ready to return to join us face-to-face. In order to keep in-person attendance at or below the county limit, we are using the alphabetical system below. Whether you worship with us physically or virtually, we are glad that you’re here—and we pray that you will encounter God’s unconditional, transformative love in this place!

August Worship Schedule

We’d love to have you worship with us! The traditional service is at 8:30 am on Sundays, and the contemporary service is at 10:15 am. You can join us online — via Facebook or Youtube — every week of the year, and you are also invited to join us in person using the schedule below.

• August 2nd (Communion Sunday) — Last names A-L worship in-person
• August 9th (Communion Sunday) — Last names M-Z worship in-person
• August 16th — Last names A-L worship in-person
• August 23th — Last names M-Z worship in-person
• August 30th (Blessing of the Backpacks) — All families with children and youth worship in-person

Note: We know that people’s schedules vary, especially during the summer—so if you are unable to worship in-person on your alphabetical week, you are welcome to attend on your “off-week.” (For example, if the Smiths are out of town on August 9th, they could choose to attend on August 2nd instead!)
